Techniques for Bluetooth Performance Improvement
نویسندگان
چکیده
This paper examines the application of some techniques in Bluetooth communications expected to improve system’s performance under certain environmental conditions. The transmitter diversity Alamouti scheme [1] and receiver diversity have been evaluated and compared to the standard single antenna transmitter and receiver system by means of the achievable BER. Some analytical considerations about multiple correlated channels according to the Gilbert-Elliot (GE) model are provided besides the simulation results for the case of flat-fading.

The Impact of Cooperative Learning and Mobile Learning through Bluetooth Device on Vocabulary Learning of Iranian EFL Learners
Cooperative learning has been found to affect different aspects of language learning by many researchers (e.g., Kagan, 1995; Kagan, 1999; Kessler, 1992; McGroarty, 1993). Likewise, mobile assisted language learning (MALL) has revealed significant impacts on the improvement of different language skills and components (e.g., Comas-Quinn et al. 2009; Divitini & Chabert, 2009; Motallebzadeh & Ganja...
متن کاملTechniques to improve the performance of TCP in a mixed Bluetooth and WLAN environment
A major challenge for the WLAN technology stems from having to share the 2.4 GHz ISM band with other wireless devices such as Bluetooth radios. The main goal of this paper is to investigate the use of techniques to mitigate the effects of interference for Bluetooth and WLAN and discuss the resulting performance trade-offs. We compare the performance of the Bluetooth and WLAN systems and evaluat...
متن کاملBluetooth Adaptive Frequency Hopping and Scheduling
In this paper, we investigate the use of Adaptive Frequency Hopping (AFH) techniques aimed at modifying the Bluetooth frequency hopping sequence in the presence of WLAN direct sequence spread spectrum devices. We examine the conditions such as the applications, topologies, and scenarios under which AFH techniques improve performance that is measured in terms of packet loss, TCP delay, and chann...
متن کاملA New GFSK Demodulation Technique using EKF in Bluetooth Receivers
Bluetooth is a wireless technology that is widely used in consumer electronics and deployed in many industries due to its ease of use and low cost. Gaussian frequency shift keying (GFSK) is the modulation scheme used in Bluetooth receivers to achieve a basic data rate of 1 Mbps. In this article, a new noncoherent demodulation technique based on the Extended Kalman Filter (EKF) is presented to d...
متن کاملMobility support for Bluetooth public access
Bluetooth technology offers the potential for low-cost, broadband wireless access for a range of mobile and portable devices. It can thus provide for ubiquitous computing across a wide range of devices. In this paper we explore the avenues for providing mobility in a Bluetooth access network. The existing methods for the same are briefly summarized and their shortcomings are pointed out. We the...
